Kicky Mats started with one doormat, a few clever words, and a whole lot of personality — founded by Eboni Roberts, a creative entrepreneur with a passion for self-expression. She wanted to do more than just decorate doorsteps — she wanted to kick open doors of creativity, joy, and community.

In the early days, we sold mats at pop-ups and painted them by hand at home, all while juggling life, late nights, and a vision to turn ordinary doormats into something unforgettable. What began as a fun side hustle turned into a movement — one that speaks your language, welcomes your guests with a wink, and celebrates culture in the loudest, proudest way possible.

But for us, this isn’t just about mats.
It’s about community.

From hosting free mat painting parties for kids and teaming up with local schools and nonprofits, to supporting other small businesses through collaborations and grants, Kicky Mats is committed to giving back to the people and neighborhoods that helped build us.

We’ve been featured in ESPN, Meta, Buzzfeed,  Essence, Beyonce.com, Oprah.com, and more — but our proudest moments happen offline: when someone laughs out loud at a mat, paints with their family at one of our events, or finds the perfect phrase that feels like them.
